SYNOPSIS

After a king banishes the older queen and his son to a palace where they lead a life of luxury and decadence, an oracle whispers secret words to the prince and the prince leaves the palace with his friend, the merchant’s son. Their boat sinks and they arrive at The Land Of Cards – an island where the inhabitant cards suffer from a fascist rule. As he inspires a rebellion among its women with music and prophecies of love, Director Q takes on a newer and wilder approach to story telling in this surrealist psychedelic adaptation of the classic fantasy musical play by Rabindranath Tagore. Tasher Desh premiered at the Rome International Film Festival and travelled to several film festivals like the Chicago South Asian Film Festival. It also saw theatrical release in Kolkata and Mumbai, India.
